Samuel in the Quantum Field:
How One Boy's Holocaust Story Can Help Us Bridge Space, Time, and Everything in Between

Study after study has shown decreasing attention spans among teens. The way information is delivered--via TikTok and other quick-streaming social apps--sets up many kids for difficulty in reading typically formatted books. Samuel in the Quantum Field offers a refreshing method of storytelling that incorporates built-in "hyperlink"-style passages to enrich the content and meet young readers where they are.

Samuel's journey begins in Ludmir, Poland, and moves along the railways through Northern Russia and the ever-shifting borders of World War II Europe. Samuel experiences small kindness and tragic loss... and, all the while, the reader is offered myriad lenses through which to read and process his story--offering glimpses into quantum physics, historical facts, psychology, astronomy, philosophy, and more.

Readers come away with an understanding that history and life are always unfurling through our thoughts and choices, and that--as in the quantum field--everything and everyone are connected in ways we may not have even imagined. As Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, "It is one light which beams out of a thousand stars."
